The party had spent the last week performing reconnaissance on the New Mandalorian Senate building, taking in every entrance and exit, every potential weak point, and spying out every possible way they could sneak their way in to rescue Bitter’s daughter. It was decided by the crew that they would split their strength, with each member of the crew tasked with something different.
T4-NK was to be disguised as an Imperial Navy messenger droid and was given the job of entering through the main entrance with falsified orders, as a way to gain access to the Senator himself. Blaeh Kiup was given the groups hovercraft and tasked with providing coverage and support from a nearby building, given his experience as a Republic Scout and long-range weapons capabilities. Zarkos Surge and Zur Katt resolved to take the (seemingly) hardest job of causing a distraction, drawing Mandalorian forces away from the upper levels. And Bitter, utilizing the skills he had developed over a long career of bounty hunting and assassinations, would infiltrate the upper levels and try to find his daughter directly. If all went off without a hitch, T4-NK would rendezvous with Bitter and the pair would extract Bitter’s daughter and signal to Blaeh to speed them away.
T4-NK was able to enter without issue, but was stopped in the lobby of the building by an aging bureaucrat. Through his impressive knowledge of Imperial Navy officers (gained from illegal access onboard a military ship), he was able to create falsified orders from Rear Admiral Grendor Heltikors, the Commander of the New Mandalorian Sector Advance Fleet. He was able to enter the elevators to the upper floor, the first part of the plan successfully completed.
Bitter used his recently purchased climbing equipment and every ounce of strength in his body to stealthily make his way up the sides of the towering skyscraper. A few levels below the Senator’s personal quarters, Bitter was able to find an unsecured door on a balcony and slip his way in. He moved too quickly though, not checking for security measures, and triggered a silent alarm which alerted nearby guards. He was able to hide well, utilizing the distraction caused by Zarkos and Zurr to escape notice, but one of the guards was more cunning than expected. A full out brawl ensued, each of them utilizing every weapon and attack in their arsenal to gain the upper hand. They wrestled and grappled, throwing each other around the hall, with neither truly winning until Bitter was able to draw out his Molecular Stiletto and stab it through the back of the guard’s neck, severing his brain from his spinal cord and ending the fight. He unceremoniously dropped the guard’s body and made his way to the nearest elevator, covered in blood and a little more bruised than before, but more resolved than ever.
Meanwhile, Zarkos and Zur had scaled the building to a wide hall a few floors below and started an all out battle. Eight guards drew their blasters and weapons and attacked the pair, who put up a hell of a fight, even more so than they expected of themselves. Zarkos wielded his Vibro-glaive and Mythosaur axe in each hand, held in Cortosis gauntlets, and with them severed limbs and decapitated his foes. He was blinded by a bolt from a blaster but it did not quell his fighting spirit, as he utilized his other senses to seek out foes and broke their bodies with his bare hands.
On the other side of the hall Zur faced down the other half of the guards, a blaster in one hand and a Cortosis sword in the other. Outnumbered and overwhelmed, Zur had to be tactical, utilizing blind spots and the bodies of his enemies as distractions, drawing them in one at a time for single combat. Though difficult, he was able to fend for himself, slaying two of the guards before another caught him off guard and severed his left arm. Briefly stunned, he was not broken and immediately decapitated the man who maimed him. Together, Zur and Zarkos slew all of their foes and were able to make it to the elevator together where they rendezvoused with the rest of their crew, including Blaeh Kiup who had flown in to help Zur and Zarkos.
Altogether, the Rebel Spirit crew made their way up to the Senator’s personal quarters. They found them abandoned, by T4-NK plugged into a nearby computer and discovered that they were not near as alone as they thought. Connected to the apartment’s security system, he was able to detect seven bodies approaching them. The crew drew their weapons, readying themselves for a fight, when before them appeared Senator Yunbos Estrada and his personal guard of Harnos Clan Mandalorian warriors.
To the dismay of Zur Katt, he recognized many of them. The Harnos Clan had long been enemies of the Katt Clan, and around the Senator were some of the greatest warriors amongst the Harnos. Kelrok Harnos, a famed assassin and deadly vibroblade fighter; Lorgar Harnos, one of the greatest mercenaries who fought in the Clone Wars; Miroshi Harnos, an infamous former member of the Death Watch terrorist group on Old Mandalore; Reloria Harnos, a ruthless and cold Master Bounty Hunter; Trikani Harnos, a heavy commando who had fought in every galactic war over the last thirty years; and their leader…Astorith Harnos, a former Royal Mandalorian Guard.
There they stood, facing these deadly foes, waiting…watching…prepared to fight or flee at a moment’s notice.
