Session Recap: Of Weapons & War - 09/01/24

09/01/24 - 6:00pm to 10:00pm

After departing from the headquarters of the Katt Clan on Tammuz-An, the crew of the Rebel Spirit set off for Coruscant to pursue the bounty of “Filthy” Fraenq, a well-known Hutt bandit wanted for over 100 counts of assault, battery, extortion, murder, and corruption.

On the way to Coruscant they stopped in the Corellian System, purchasing fuel and resting at the waystation of a Duros merchant named Weenok Peenok. Unfortunately, while chasing a bounty on a group of bandits many years before, Bitter encountered and killed Weenok’s father and brothers, who were the bandits in question. The group was able to talk their way out of the tense situation without bloodshed, but after jetting out of the system their Bounty Hunter’s Guild HoloNetwork Station alerted them to a new bounty…one on Bitter himself (as his dues had lapsed during his time with the Rebel Spirit crew)

NEW BOUNTY NOTIFICATION:

Target Name: Bitter the Genk

Appearance: Holo Image of Bitter

Homeworld: Coruscant

Last Known Location: Weenok Peenok's Landing Pad (Corellia System)

Last Seen With: Serving as Crew Member of The Rebel Spirit, Captain: Zur Katt

Wanted For: Triple Homicide

Reward: 3,000 Credits

Vowing revenge and planning to deal with it later, Bitter urged the crew forward to Coruscant. The group was desperately in need of funds, as Blaeh Kiup and T4-NK were still 7,200 Credits in debt to the junk dealer Hari Ziur, for the new astromech body he had provided T4-NK.

They landed in the Skrixian Slums, far from the central districts of Coruscant, where Bitter had a number of contacts, including local criminal Hunki Mannmeet, loan shark Scrowdel Sak, and the owner of the Mahmi’s Shack, Mahmi Bignippz. They searched out Hunki, who was able to provide them a place to store the Rebel Spirit and directed them to a local junk dealer, after they told her they were looking for a planetary vehicle. After an hour or so of haggling and debating with the owner, they were able to purchase a Retrax-VII Pisehnshartin Mk. II (AKA The Cousin-Lover), a low-tech but reliable and spacious hovercraft.

After purchasing the vehicle, they set out to find the trail of Filthy Fraenq, which led them to the Weebiht Hanzee Wivvaleydeez Diner. Their investigation was never truly able to be started, as the owner made an offensive remark to an android servant of his, which T4-NK took personally. A gunfight ensued, in which Weebiht was killed, his security system destroyed, his droids freed, and all of the money within the diner stolen by the crew.

It was at this point that Bitter was contacted by his mysterious patron, the Senator who had kidnapped and held his daughter. By a chance of fate, Bitter recognized the building in the background of the Senator’s holo-projection and convinced the group to do reconnaissance there. After nearly three days of watching and waiting, the group discovered the great secret that had embroiled Bitter’s life for over a year. The Senator who held his daughter was none other than the New Mandalorian Senator, Yunbos Estrada. This incensed not only Bitter, but Zur Katt as well, and together they resolved to break into the building, take Bitter’s daughter back, and kill the rival Mandalorians that protected the Senator.
